Fostering Tomorrow's Workforce
Sentara has established numerous unique programs to build a pipeline to foster the diverse healthcare workforce of tomorrow. These programs provide opportunities for future healthcare workers from diverse backgrounds by reducing barriers and financial burdens associated with pursuing higher-paying careers.
Sentara's Project CHOICE is a unique program that represents the organization's commitment to 'Careers in Healthcare that provide Opportunities for Improvements in Community Economics and Equity'. This program aims to create a pipeline that fosters a pathway to healthcare careers that impact community economics and health equity outcomes. Through this program, Sentara is partnering with existing educational systems to provide exposure, experience, and immersion toward clinical and non-clinical pathway choices.
Sentara Scholars is a student assistance program designed to provide financial support to students in healthcare and healthcare-related programs. The goal of Sentara Scholars is to help remove financial barriers that prevent student enrollment and retention. Funding is made available to students through partnerships with academic institutions and non-profit organizations throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Recipients are selected from a combination of merit and need-based criteria.
